The press release from Volunteering Norway states:
On Caritas Resource centers in Oslo allow people who are new to Norway to get help navigating the Norwegian system, receive assistance in writing applications and information about their rights, as well as take part in activities. The goal is to help more people integrate into Norwegian society and the workplace.
Last year, the 228 volunteers at the resource center conducted a total of 8,300 individual conversations. The guidance is mainly provided in the native language of the person visiting the center, which makes the service accessible to more people. The efforts of the volunteers at the resource center help create completely new opportunities – both for the visitors and the volunteers themselves.
Coming to Norway is not easy. Learning the language is not easy, but here we are in a way together with a common goal, says Claudia Arangua, project advisor at Caritas .
