The future panel wants to hear your opinion

Have you ever wondered how we can use Norway's wealth in the best possible way for both ourselves and future generations?
We want to hear YOUR opinion! On November 13th, 40,000 people will receive an SMS, and then a lottery will draw the lucky ones. If you are between 16 and 26 years old, you have an even greater chance of joining, because we want to reach out to young people.
Norway is one of the world's richest countries. At the same time, we and the world face several major problems, such as loss of nature, climate change, war and conflict, poverty and injustice.
The choices we make today are important for both us and future generations. But what choices do we have and what is the wise thing to do?
The Future Panel will learn, discuss and work towards good answers to this over several sessions. The panel will think long-term, and ensure that those who are young today, and those who come after us, are taken into account.
By bringing together a selection of people from all parts of the country, drawn through a lottery, to work together and agree on recommendations, the Future Panel shows how ordinary people, with the help of expert knowledge and time, can be involved and listened to in the face of important and difficult problems that concern us all.
The goal of the future panel is:
- to provide increased knowledge about Norway's wealth and the problems we face
- make good recommendations on what we should do with them
- facilitate an open and knowledge-based public debate about the question being asked
- be a contribution to the further development of democracy
Who is behind the initiative?
The Future Panel is a citizen panel organized by the organizations Caritas Norway, Save the Children, Church emergency response , the National Council of Norwegian Children's and Youth Organizations (LNU), the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the Long-Term Think Tank and The Future in Our Hands.
